![]() I roll with Quiet usually, tranqing entire outposts unseen under cover of night as a crack team with careful coordination and timing. It's all so goofy and I can't help but laugh. ![]() Replacing DD with Ocelot is even weirder: Here's what happens when Quiet and Ocelot change places: Other human characters, however, swap almost perfectly. While D-Dog's model is evidently set up similar enough to do something in this scene rather than nothing, it's different enough that it freaks out - unsurprisingly, seeing as he's not people. The cutscene that clip's from (spoilers, obvs) isn't much less weird though (oh, Metal Gear!). ![]() Look, this dog thinks he's people (sorry, I don't have a better source for that): It's a simple thing and entirely predictable but, like physics ragdolls freakouts and missing faces, I will always laugh at model swaps gone wrong. Or you could swap D-Dog for Quiet, making some of the sniper's already-odd cutscenes get really weird. Well, folks have been fiddling with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and sure, you could make it so Quiet takes Snake's place. They're just in the back.Swapping 3D models is usually one of the first mods folks figure out for games without official mod tools, letting you earnestly play as different characters or just dick about and make things weird. ![]() Mind you this is a PAIN for control edges when high polying, but what I do these days is take things into ZBrush, re-dynamesh and not worry about control edges.įinally, the parts marked in green is pretty self explanatory. Eventually that shape and the side pieces were merged together and I made the appropriate cuts.įinally, the part marked in orange were cut out from what I usually do with circles in general.Īlign the verts on the plane from a cylinder and cut out the appropriate hole. The parts marked in blue were cubes that were rotated on 45 degree angles and merged together in the block out. The roundness of the side pieces, or surrounding bracket, or whatever you want to call it (marked on red), is dependent on the center cylinder. After the block out, I started from the cylinder and worked from the inside out. If you see one of the earlier posts I blocked it out from a plane and a cylinder. ![]()
